Last North Wales BikeSafe of 2025

The last 2025 North Wales Police workshop to help improve motorcycling skills is to be held in St Asaph this weekend. BikeSafe is the UK’s number one police-led motorcycle safety initiative is aimed at working with motorcyclists to develop key skills around riding and safety.

The one day workshop will include classroom based theory, looking at causation factors and solutions and an observed ride where participants receive vital feedback.

The last workshop will be on Sunday, 5th October and limited spaces are available for a subsidised fee of just £84 per rider.

The workshop will be delivered by experienced police motorcyclists, as well as our fantastic and dedicated approved volunteer Observers and will cover matters such as cornering, road positioning, observation, hazard perception and much more.

Registration is 08:45 and then a classroom input from 09:00 until midday. The participants will then be taken out on an observed ride on a 2:1 ratio from 13:00 – 16:00. Inspector Leigh Evans of the Roads Crime Unit said: “Sadly, motorcyclists continue to feature disproportionately in our road traffic collision figures.

“With the main aim of reducing the number of bikers being hurt on the roads, the workshop will explore the main riding hazards that motorcyclists face. By delivering theory presentations and observed rides a BikeSafe workshop helps bikers discover their strengths and weaknesses.

“Whilst we are encouraging bikers to take responsibility for their own safety by continuously refreshing and improving their motorcycle skills, we are also asking drivers to please take extra care and look properly for bikers particularly at T-junctions.

“We would urge motorcyclists to really consider attending this last workshop of 2025, where you’ll find you’re sitting alongside like-minded biking enthusiasts with a wide range of experience, skills and different machines. Whether you are on a commuter bike, scooter or a sports bike, you are equally welcome and will benefit by having the skills for the rest of the biking season and beyond.

“We’d like to thank everybody who has attended any of the workshops we have delivered across the region, and further information relating to 2026 will be publicised in due course.”
